Beaches of Venice, Florida

For our latest “out week”, we chose to spend time at Rambler’s Rest in Venice, Florida. It’s a place we stayed at back in the summer of 2019. We really, really enjoy hunting for shark teeth on the beaches near Venice!

As we were setting up our site, we heard a few friendly voices say hello. We looked up and saw Jared and Kris from “All About RVs” on YouTube and “@lesshousemoreliving” on Instagram. The funny thing is that we met them during our stay in the summer of 2019 after I’d watched a bunch of their videos that spring. We “accidentally” bumped into Jared one evening on our walk back from the pool and introduced ourselves and got a tour of their RV. They instantly followed us on Instagram and we’ve enjoyed staying in touch that way.

As luck would have it, we saw them at Lazydays this January during the RV Super Show in Tampa. Then again at Sun-N-Fun while enjoying time with the Peps. We always respect people’s privacy in this RV life, but also enjoy saying hello. I’ve managed to say hi to Jared and/or Kris each time we’ve seen them. It was really amazing, small world cool that they now know us and said hi to us…in the same RV resort where we first met them! RV life is pretty amazing in that way – you can have “friends” who go all different places and directions and still randomly bump into each other a few times a year!

Anyhow, we enjoyed our time in Venice and at Rambler’s Rest. Every night after work, we’d head over to the beach to hunt shark teeth. We had a vegan reuben on the beach in Nokomis and otherwise just enjoyed some great sunsets! We got to spend a full day on the beach on Friday as I had a day off of work – and enjoyed getting to play in the water and hunt for shark teeth all day!

We’re heading back down to North Fort Myers for 5-10 days as we figure out our timeline and path up north for the summer. We’re excited to see progress on our house and also to see our family and friends up north.
