Easter & Design Modifications

Since moving into our house, we’ve been struggling with how to personalize and decorate. It’s just a boring, normal, new construction home. Like so many houses. Nothing “special”. So we’ve been struggling with how to make it seem unique and different. And our old style of grey & white doesn’t feel like it would solve the problem. So we’ve been living in a mostly undecorated house…until now! We’ve decided to make a bold move – adding BLACK to our color scheme and trying to personalize.

We started with the cabinet pulls in the kitchen. Changed the chrome hinges and door handles to black. Adding a black & white backsplash. And seeing where else we can add some black to the endless white. It’s going to be a challenge and a big shift in our style – but we’re ready to have a unique home!

Beyond the big design changes, we celebrated Easter. There was an egg hunt and we had Karissa’s aunt Leslie and cousin Carly visit. They got to experience a food truck Friday and join the hunt!

Our life continues to be pretty busy. But we do our best to make time to relax, breathe deep, and slow down.

We’re beginning to get our summer plans together and looking forward to a bit of a smooth finish into the end of the school year.
