Our Spring Break was absolute perfection. We sent the kids off to Mimi & Papa’s in Naples so we could spend a few days as child-free adults with our great friends, Brittany & Larry, who came to visit from Illinois.
Like all parents of a kid under 2, they’ve been living a hectic life and wanted to slow down. During their stay, we all slept in late – especially them. I made a pancake breakfast with fresh coffee. We enjoyed the warm weather. Went on a run or two. Had a late lunch out. And then either did some pool time or had a second meal out. It was what they wanted to do! We provided a list of activities and were willing to go and do anything, but they were happy just taking a break from life. It was a much needed visit and we miss them. We brought the kids home for Brittany & Larry’s final night – the kids love them too – and wish they’d stayed longer.
For the rest of our spring break, we kept the slowing down theme going. We had more visitors in the week the kids returned to school – Aunt Foi and her boys. Foi took Adelaide to school every morning and we felt like we had another vacation thanks to that!
Grandma Cathy is coming tonight and we haven’t told the kids…
It was our pleasure to babysit and give you all time together. Loved seeing Brit and Larry!! Having Grandma Cathy surprise the kids and to spend such quality, loving moments was priceless. The pandemic hasn’t been kind to us Grandparents.
