Finishing Outside Projects

We’ve been using the end of fall to get our remaining outside projects done. We finally finished painting the outside of our house! It was red when we bought it. We painted the front dark brown before realizing it was horrible. Then tried a grey that wound up being too pink. And settled on a decent grey but didn’t finish. Karissa finished the last of the painting. It feels good to have that project crossed off of the list!

The other big project is finishing our paver patio in the front yard. We started it about 2 years ago. Didn’t touch it again until this year. I bought all of the remaining pavers at Menards, 45 of them, and made the patio almost as large as we planned. Maybe in the spring we’ll finish it up…but it’s large enough as-is to be usable.

Other than that, we’ve been just chugging along with life. Kids doing school with help from Mommy. Me trying to navigate the stock market and waiting for the economic reality to be reflected in stock prices. And enjoying fall – especially the warmer days!

We visited the local pumpki patch, have taken some epic walks including a few photo sessions, watched the neighbor put up his inflatable Halloween cat, and generally enjoyed life.

The weather has definitely turned colder lately – likely for good – and dark, which is the worst part of it…why do people live in the Midwest again?

*We’ll wrap up with a few food shots.*
