Sun-N-Fun in the Summer: 1/2 Price, Full Fun

We’ve spent the last two Christmases at Sun-N-Fun RV Resort in Sarasota, Florida. When we saw a deal to stay there for up to 2 nights for 50% off (thanks to Passport America), we booked a premium site and got ready for some fun.

At Christmas, the place is booked to capacity and costly. At 50% off – $35/night – and pretty empty, we splurged for a premium site that is easily over $100/night, if you can even find one that’s open. It was a short 3 minute walk to the playground and pool. Just a few steps to the bathhouse.

As you can tell, we balance our days between fun at the resorts and exploring the towns. At Sun-N-Fun, we didn’t even move the truck after the got there. Morning playground and pool. Lunch back at the RV. A nap. Then late afternoons and evenings at the pool again. For a few days, we enjoyed living at a great resort. It was a nice reprieve from the fun (but business) we had in Venice.

Sun-N-Fun serves as a waterpark for locals in the summer. Because most of the snowbirds are gone and the resort is fairly empty, they sell day passes to the pool to keep revenues up. The pool was about the right level of busy during our stay to be and see fun without being crowded. We had a great stay!
