Because of covid, we didn’t see Karissa’s parents for over a year. They decided to stay in Florida for the summer rather than come to their Wisconsin home like they normally do. We saw my parents, outside and socially distanced, all through 2020.
So it was inevitable that we’d have to visit Karissa’s parents while we’re here in southwest Florida. We had our final interaction with the outside world (groceries) and did a mini quarantine in our RV for a few days. Then, all four of us got covid tested. It wasn’t too bad – even Emerson was fine after a few minutes. We went back to the RV to await the results. By lunchtime, we had our negative test results and got in the truck that afternoon to safely visit Mimi & Papa.
The kids opened their Christmas gifts right away. We all joked about how we had to keep telling our brains that it’s ok to be in the same house and closer than 6 feet apart. We wound up spending a whole week there. We didn’t do a whole lot, just enjoyed the warm weather and having someone other than us help watch the kids 😉 !
We had Karissa’s dad do about a million loads of laundry. We kept up our running streaks. Took some walks. Learned Mimi & Papa’s daily routine. And enjoyed having some really good wifi for a week. It was a great time. But we’re excited to get back to our “home” at the RV too.
I’m glad you had a wonderful time at Mimi and Papa’s!! What a fun time for you!!
