First Week of Preschool

Adelaide had her first week of preschool. We enrolled her in two days a week and chose the particular school because of a neighbor friend who is in her class. There really aren’t any premier/exclusive preschools in our area, like in the large cities. The place we chose has been around forever and we haven’t heard anybody say anything negative about it, so I think we lucked into a great choice (as is our MO). We probably would have chosen three days a week, but having a friend is pretty important.

Adelaide was excited to wear her new school shoes and fill up her backback with who knows what. Karissa took the day off of work to be part of this milestone day. When it was time to go in the room, Adelaide didn’t hesitate. She was ready. Picking her up, she told us she had fun and didn’t want to leave.

The second day was just as smooth. Adelaide had another fun day and is even calling her teacher by name. It’s pretty darn cute.

The other big new event this week was a new toy. A Power Wheels car, to be precise. Karissa and I both wanted one (and never got one) as kids. Adelaide is about the perfect age to enjoy it with Emerson close behind. We had been wanting to buy a blue F-150 version, but it’s no longer for sale new and we lucked into this particular truck-like Arctic Cat online. For $95 instead of $399, our used little truck will suit their needs and save us some dough. Adelaide gets better at driving it every time around the block. Emerson still can’t reach the gas pedal.

This is what the truck bed of a girl looks like. Tools? Mud? Nope. Dolls and blankets. We also watched some big dogs for a few hours.
