Adelaide is officially a 3-year old! It seriously seems like yesterday she was born. We remember her birth story so vividly because labor started the night of Karissa’s baby shower – literally hours after the party ended. Combine that with a life-flashing-before-your-eyes episode at the hospital and we’ll never forget the whole thing.
Adelaide is truly one-of-a-kind. She’s the most naturally caring and tender-hearted person we know. She’s sassy and hilarious. Wickedly smart and beautiful. Speaking is still her biggest weak spot, but she slowly improves all the time.
This year has flown by. Just a short year ago, she looked like a baby. Now she’s a real big kid. We’ve had the pleasure of spending almost all of the last year with her; day-in and day-out. Adelaid’s favorite thing to do is “play house” both by herself and with others. She continues to love her dolls. She loves her brother and likes to teach him things. She’s blossoming into a fashion-mogul. Every day begins with putting on a dress, combing her hair, doing her eyes and lipstick before breakfast. She refuses to wear shorts or pants, preferring skirts and dresses. She’s become quite the water rat after spending hours each day at the pool. Not long ago, she hated water in her eyes. Now, she jumps into the pool, submerges herself to get diving rings and toys, and is loving small waterslides. It’s amazing how quickly she’s progressing and growing up.
Adelaide: Mommy and Daddy love you. Emerson too. It’s amazing to watch you grow and we treasure our time with you. Happy 3rd birthday, Baby Girl.
