Brownies, Plastic Kiddie Pool, Park Swing

IMG_2285[1]It was hot this past weekend; I think it was over 90 degrees on Saturday. After mowing the lawn in the (relatively) cool morning and spending the bulk of the day inside making brownies and hanging out, we decided to use our public pool pass for the first time this year.
As we rode our bikes up to the pool entrance, we saw a heavy stream of people coming out. Thinking it was just a convenient time for folks to leave, we walked up to the doors. We were given the devastating news – the pool closes at 5:00pm on Saturdays! It’s open until 7:00pm every other day of the week, but no Saturdays. Defeated, we rode our bikes back home and loaded into the truck to buy a plastic kiddie pool from Wal-Mart. $40 later, we filled up with water and set baby girl free to splash. Of course, she didn’t want to be in the water. But she had a blast throwing golf balls into the water and trying to fish them out from the dry concrete. She may not be a fan of the water yet, but she’s enjoying the pool and that’s good enough for us.

On Sunday, we went back to the park – but as the temperature dropped down to the 70s, we just played on the playground and swings.
