We decided to spend the kids’ fall break from school at Disney World. We haven’t gone since Adelaide was just about 3 and Emerson was just about 1 – so they were due. We hoped to get there before they could see through the illusion and still feel and live the magic of Disney. It was perfect!
As Florida residents, we get a pretty nice discount on tickets – and found a hotel just off of Disney property for $140/night. So it was a very affordable trip! We drove up on Sunday and explored Disney Springs to get our shopping out of the way.
The first day was Magic Kingdom, 2nd day Epcot, 3rd day Hollywood Studios, and 4th day Magic Kingdom again.
We had an absolute blast! The vegan food choices are pretty reasonable. The kids had a ball. Adelaide is quite the daredevil – Emerson is a scaredy cat. Disney offers attractions for everybody, so it was all good. We learned on the final day that Adelaide loves parades and wants to see characters, so next visit we’ll make sure to find her more characters to meet and see and take the time to watch parades and shows.
The pictures tell the story – we had too much fun. We walked something like 7-10 miles/day. Didn’t get enough sleep. And it was totally worth it!
Disney offers an annual pass for Florida residents. It’s only good during the week during off-peak times and only allows up to 3 days of reservations at a time…but it’s very reasonably priced and might be worth it. We’re debating. We think going at least once/year is totally worthwhile, especially as Florida residents with our kids this age.
