We’re officially homeless. Or address-less, at least, after selling our house at 531. And for the time being, we’re a full-time RV family. We have a few surprises up our sleeve that we’ll keep to ourselves for now, but think of us as wanderers for a while.
We spent 2 nights in hotels and 3 long days driving south to Florida after rushing out of 531. When we put our RV in storage in January of 2020, we planned to have a summer adventure. Because of covid, it wound up sitting for nearly a year – but other than being dirty on the outside and having a dead battery, it was in perfect shape. We dragged it over to our favorite RV resort, Lazydays, and spent a few days doing a systems check and putting all of our stuff away. We even replaced our leaky, non-sealing toilet with a fancy new one that doesn’t leak and holds water!
We managed to stay there during the annual “RV Supershow” at the nearby Florida State Fairgrounds – but lucked into securing a spot because of a helpful Lazydays employee finding the one available space.
The pool was mostly empty – most guests were at the Supershow. We walked the RV lot and looked at new RVs. And even saw a full-time family and YouTube star staying just around the corner from us.
We plan to move around a little down here in Florida and will share recaps of our time at various campgrounds after we leave – sort of like we did on our big RV adventure in 2017-2018.
We hope to have a lot of adventure and thank our friends and family for storing some of our stuff (and 3rd dog) while we transition into the next chapter of life. This little adventure isn’t permanent, though we’re not ready to share our long-term plans just yet.
