Seriously. Where did November go? We were just voting and waiting for the election outcome. Must have been that it took a little longer than normal to determine the winner…or something…because November literally went by in the blink of an eye!
We spent another month mostly at home. We saw my parents a few times on the warmer days – which there were more than normal this year – but otherwise spent the month at home doing e-learning. And darn-near finishing our home renovation!
I try not to do photo dumps like this, but here’s a collection of photos from the month of November 2020:
Hopefully it’s clear that we had a decently fun month – even if we didn’t do anything particularly noteworthy.
…That is…other than nearly finish our home renovation. We bought this house 8 years ago and immediately began tearing down walls. We finished the upstairs, other than the pocket door we added this month, right before Adelaide was born. Just before Emerson was born, we completely gutted the basement. We replaced the furnace & ductwork with 2 new furnaces and all new ductwork. Replaced 100% of the electrical system in the basement. Tiled the floor. Drywalled. Painted. Installed doors. We spent much of November painting doors, finishing the last bits of baseboard and trim, and the other little touches that perhaps only we’d notice. There are still a few little things to finish – and one larger thing, our hall bathroom, but then the house will be completely finished. It’s been a whirlwind. We’ve been obsessed with making things exactly right to our wants and needs. And now it seems like we’re already back to replacing things we’ve done. We had to get a new fridge over the summer. We’ve replaced the dishwasher already. The washing machine is acting up. And the roof probably needs to be replaced before too long. But we’ll take getting to this stage – of a mostly finished house – as a major victory.
