Merry Christmas! We spent our first & last Christmas as a family of 4 in Illinois at our house. Adelaide spent her first 2 Christmases here before we spent the next 3 in the RV at Sun-N-Fun in Sarasota, Florida. Those 3 are all of Emerson’s Christmases so far – so this was unique for him.
As is my family tradition, we slept under the tree on Christmas eve – hoping to catch Santa delivering presents. We had two trees this year – stolen from the kids rooms. We sold our main Christmas tree before Christmas after deciding it wasn’t worth taking with us. The photos with the two trees look pretty cool – but we’ll be back to one tree next year.
Our 3-year tradition of eating our Christmas meal at a buffet ended this year as well. Sun-N-Fun had a wonderful Christmas buffet – with ham, turkey, potatoes, rolls, and pies. They moved it to Christmas Eve last year, 2019, so workers could spend Christmas with their families. So we ate at a Chinese buffet instead. This year, we snacked and munched all day at home.
The kids were blessed with far too many presents. We messaged and spoke with friends and family on the phone. And had a great day together snoozing, watching movies, playing games, and doing a big puzzle.
It’s been a wild and crazy December – and January is going to be equally hectic. But we’re chasing our dreams.
Stay tuned for a 2020 wrap-up/summary and a bunch of big news into 2021.
Merry Christmas!
