After hosting Thanksgiving, we thought the whirlwind of activity was over. Boy, were we wrong! We knew the weekend after Thanksgiving would be busy, but it seemed like our activities kept multiplying.
The first big event was going to see Frozen II. Cousin Aidan skipped going to it with his mom and brother so that he could see it with Adelaide. How sweet is that? We’ve been eagerly anticipating this movie ever since Adelaide saw the first Frozen and fell in love with Elsa. We wound up seeing it in 3D. Even Emerson loved it.
On Friday night, our local YMCA hosted their Christmas Extravaganza. They had some activities, crafts, a bouncy house, and Santa Claus. We saw a bunch of folks we know. It was a fun night.
Saturday was as jam-packed as a day can get. First, Adelaide had her last basketball game followed by a team brunch.
Karissa had to leave brunch early to go to a friend’s baby shower.
Then, we headed up to Wisconsin for the Christmas celebration with Karissa’s mom’s side of the family. The kids had a ball playing with their cousins, doing crafts, seeing “Santa”, and eating candy.
We spent the night up there. I woke up and went on a 10 mile run.
Then, we loaded up and headed into the suburbs of Chicago for Cousin Ella’s birthday party. It was at their YMCA which had an awesome indoor waterpark.
When we got home, we watched a little bit of TV and all of us collapsed after the hectic, busy, and fun week. We’re excited for a more ‘normal’ week ahead before the Christmas RV adventure!
