After getting to Lazydays a day earlier than planned, we had rainy weather to contend with. We spent the first day waiting for Karissa to come just relaxing, watching TV, and made a trip to the grocery store.
The next day, we went to this awesome indoor playground and coffee shop called PlayGrounds. It’s a bunch of inflatable bounce houses and slides and intended for ages 1-12, but I’d say the real target range is about 4-8. Adelaide was the perfect age to do anything and have a blast. Emerson was a bit too small/uncoordinated to be in the busier bounce houses with other kids. We spent 2 awesome hours there.
We walked outside to sunshine. It was still a bit chilly, but it was sunny. Which to Adelaide meant pool. We got back to Lazydays and she had to check the pool’s temperature – just like Mommy showed her.
Lo and behold! It was “hot right here”. So we bundled up and headed to the pool. A few seconds of standing on the top step and we all sought the warmth of the hot tub.
The next morning was the day we had to get Karissa from the airport. It was a beautiful, sunny morning. We had our last breakfast of donuts before getting dressed and heading out the door to get Mom.
Getting Karissa was uneventful. We saw that her flight was going to arrive early and planned accordingly. She waited less than 5 minutes for us. The first thing Adelaide wanted to do with Mommy was go to the pool. Mind you, it was still in the low 60s, but we went! Again, we wound up in the hot tub for the duration of our visit.
One of the best things about Lazydays, the RV dealer next door to the RV resort, is that they have all 1,500+ of their units unlocked during business hours. Customers can wander the lot and go freely into and out of any RV at prices ranging from $10,000 all the way up to $500,000+ without a salesman! We love seeing all of the different layouts and finishes. So that’s how we spent our afternoon. Adelaide likes to talk about where she would sleep in each RV and Emerson wants to drive any of the driveable ones.
The kids (and Mommy) ate on the couch before falling asleep together.
In the morning, we moved the RV to Sun-N-Fun in Sarasota. It’s the same place we spent Christmas last year and was magical. We tried to return in January, but it was $90/night and we would have needed to move spots every few days. Anyhow, we’re booked here for 9 nights at the December rate (before rates skyrocket) and looking forward to sun and fun.
We got set up at our site and decorated for Christmas. We have our 2-D tree, our 2-D fireplace, a 2-D wreath on the door and a few strings of lights outside. The pool here is heated and warm, even on a 65 degree day, and they have a hot tub just for kids. Here’s to a Merry Christmas and a week of fun!
