Karissa and I have voted in every single election since becoming 18 and thus allowed to vote. It’s something we’re both pretty proud of as our generation seems to take the right to vote for granted. We’ve now brought our kids to vote with us for all of the elections in which they’ve been alive. We think it’s a good example to set and good experience for them to see.
We love tacos. For a while, we were having tacos three times a day. While we’ve cut back a bit lately, that doesn’t mean we don’t still have runs where every meal includes tacos. We hit up a local Mexican restaurant. The kids loved sitting in the window and being loud. A few days later, we turned homemade chicken shawarma into taco form by replacing the pita with tortillas. They were awesome.
There’s also a set of pictures where Karissa, ever the teacher, is doing the daily calendar we keep on the windows for the kids. Emerson loves counting the days and Adelaide just keeps note of when “special days” are coming up.
We continue to think Adelaide will be a movie star or a model. She’s always been into dresses and makeup and it isn’t changing. Her fashion sense sometimes hits and sometimes misses, but like any good model, she owns it no matter what. She also has always been quite the dancer, and dance class has enhanced it (as you’d expect). We spent over an hour the other day watching ballet on YouTube while she mimicked the dancers.
Finally, we got the first real snow of the year. Something like 2 inches. Adelaide woke up beyond excited. She was too young two winters ago and we skipped last winter, so this is her first winter to play in the snow and make a snowman. We played outside until Emerson got cold and then they took a nice warm bath. Classic snowy day.
