The last week or so has been really busy. Karissa has been working late. Then she had a weekend bachelorette party. And then another long week of work. To say we were both tired is an understatement.
My parents, especially my mom, have gotten into the routine of coming over on Wednesdays almost all day and some other mornings too. Which has been a great help in terms of being able to get the lawn mowed or laundry done.
Karissa’s parents took the kids to Aunt Foy’s house to see cousins and attend the local festival of some sort. There were rides and firemen and other stuff. It sounds like the kids had a great time.
After a summer of decadence, we’ve started another round of Whole30. It’s a diet/cleanse that we’ve had great success with. There’s no calorie counting or food kits to buy – just a list of “inflammatory” foods to avoid. The first time, we struggled through the first week or so. This time, being our 4th or 5th go around, we’re finding it awfully easy to eat well. The kids are enjoying the great food too.
I shared it before, but Karissa became a Norwex Independent Sales Consultant. She’s been using their products for a long time. Her friend became one and while hosting a party, Karissa realized she loved talking about the products and helping people learn how it could improve their lives. So she signed up and hosted her first party. If you’re not aware, Norwex is a product line that focuses on cleaning with water and avoiding chemicals and paper towels.
And finally, we believe we’ve made a decision on the fate of our RV and truck.
Drumroll….
We’re keeping both! After looking at travel trailers that an F-150 could handle and estimating transaction costs, it became the best choice to keep our current 5th wheel. We debated getting a cheaper truck, but looking at truck prices, we got a heck of a deal on ours. And it’s safely and reliably taken us across the country. How can we trust another truck would do that?
So, during school breaks and for about a month after the school year, we plan to travel around and explore our great country again.
Since we’re keeping it a little longer, we earnestly began removing our peeling vinyl decals. It’s tough work, but makes it look so much better.
