Adelaide has never had a haircut. We’ve had to cut it to get tangles out a few times, but no true haircut. Her hair was very long in the back, short on the left side, and in the middle on the right. I cut Emerson’s hair back in June, but it grew long enough to put in a pony tail. So both kids needed a cut pretty bad. Adelaide didn’t want one, so we were just going to have Emerson’s cut. In the car, Adelaide said she wanted a haircut to show Emerson it wasn’t scary…so we gladly obliged.
She wanted it cut “like Mommy”.
While Adelaide did a great job holding still and being brave, Emerson cried the whole time despite being in my lap. Oh, well. They both look pretty great.
I think I talked about Adelaide’s speech in November as one of the reasons for delaying our RV trip, but we re-enrolled her in speech therapy in August. Her speech has seemed to improve just about every week – even on our trip – but getting back into formal speech therapy doesn’t hurt. And best case, it will help her tremendously. She also enjoys it and it’s great socialization.
We caught her talking to all of her toys in the rocking chair the other day. The stories that girl can tell…
It was homecoming week for our local high school. We didn’t know about it, but when we saw the streets being lined with people in chairs, it could only mean the parade was about to start. We found a spot on the curb and had fun. Adelaide liked picking up candy. Emerson danced to the music and pointed to the trucks.
Our health food kick continues with this, “deconstructed pork chop sandwich”. It was pretty good.
Adelaide packed up her suitcase the other day and demanded a sleepover with a friend. She chose the 4-year old boy down the street (and to stay at his house), but settled for her cousin. Mommy added a surprise of seeing Disney’s Frozen on Ice to the mix. Both girls (and moms) had a magical time.
Emerson and I had a boys’ night at home. We munched on food and watched action movies.
We’re not sure what next week has in store, but this week ended up being pretty successful.
