We went to Siesta Beach, which is touted as America’s #1 Beach according to the sign. It was pretty awesome. A huge number of parking spots, powder white sand, and plenty of space so it didn’t feel too crowded. We played in the sand for a few hours before moving over to the Sunday Sunset Drum Circle. We’d heard about it from folks over Christmas at Sun-N-Fun and decided it was a must-do while nearby.
It was pretty neat. Drums banging and kids & adults dancing around for the hour prior to sunset and well past sunset. It had a hippie vibe, and probably got worse after dark, but the 90 minutes we were there was mostly family-friendly. It was fun. Do it if in the area on a Sunday!
